Hi! I’m Katie (they/them)

I’m so glad you’re here! I was born and raised in Colorado, where I currently call home. I’m married to my supportive husband, Jae, and pregnant through IVF with our first child due in June. I love gardening, reading, connecting with nature, and spending time with my family. I’m also in the process of writing a poetry book!

I have been teaching yoga since 2018 when I received my 200-hr RYT certification through a yoga studio in Colorado Springs, CO. I attempted to open my own yoga studio in February 2020 but had to close shortly after opening due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, I have been furthering my education and teaching at local studios, at pop up events, and to friends and family.

I specialize in teaching yoga to Queer & Trans pregnant people, it can be difficult to find an inclusive prenatal class but it shouldn’t have to be. I’m grateful to the PGM/BIPOC LGBTQIA+ community that came before me. Because of their bravery, it’s possible for me and many other queer people to speak our truth and live authentically.

Yoga has helped me see life through a new lens by connecting me deeper to my community, my body, and sitting with discomfort. I do my best to honor yoga’s roots by acknowledging that yoga is more than a physical (asana) practice, I teach from Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: The 8 Limbs of Yoga in my classes, and encourage others to learn more about the history of yoga.
